How to remove a watermark from a PDF

Open the Key Out tool and tap Detect watermark colours. DocuFix lists the light colours it finds; pick the one that is the watermark.
Press Remove on this page, or Remove on all pages to clean the whole file. Use Area Patch or the Brush to tidy anything left.

How do I remove a watermark from a PDF for free?

Open the file in DocuFix Studio, choose Key Out, detect the watermark colour and remove it on this page or all pages. No account or install is needed, and the PDF stays on your device.

Will removing the watermark damage my text?

Dark text is protected: anything darker than a threshold you control is never touched. Where a watermark overlaps text, a thin tinted edge can remain around the letters, because that colour is blended into the text itself.

Can I remove just one logo or stamp?

Yes. Use Area Patch to drag a box around a stamp, logo or watermark. In Smart mode only watermark-coloured pixels inside the box are removed, and in Erase mode everything inside is cleared and the paper rebuilt.

Is DocuFix Studio really free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark added by us and no page limit.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Your PDF is opened and edited inside your own browser and is not uploaded anywhere, so confidential documents stay on your device. Only the editing libraries and fonts are downloaded when you first open the page.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The editor is designed for touch screens as well as desktop: pinch to zoom, drag to draw, and install it as an app from your browser menu. It also supports a light and a dark theme.

Can it remove every kind of watermark?

Not always. It works best on watermarks drawn in a consistent colour, such as grey or coloured diagonal text and stamps on a plain background. Watermarks that are part of a photo, or that share the colour of your text, may leave traces and need the Area Patch or Brush tool. Only remove watermarks from documents you own or have permission to edit.
